Welcome to the Marion Chamber of Commerce website! The Marion Chamber of Commerce was established in 1938 to serve the needs of the growing business community. In 1938 Marion was a booming railroad community. Today Marion is the 7th fastest growing community in Iowa and the Marion Chamber of Commerce continues to proudly serve the community.

The mission of the Marion Chamber of Commerce is:“To provide leadership and advocacy to ensure a growing business environment and to enhance the quality of life in Marion.”

We strive to fulfill our mission statement by focusing on four core initiatives: Leadership, Communication, Member Value and Community Development. Each of the four core initiatives is critical in growing and sustaining a solid business environment, as well as creating a quality of life that is second to none.

As you see in our logo, the Marion Chamber serves three major constituents that represent the broad base of our community- Commerce, Community and Culture. We serve as a collective voice for the business community, advocating for business related issues, as well as providing networking, marketing and educational opportunities that help grow and enhance our member businesses.

The Chamber focuses on Community Development with initiatives such as IMAGINE8, a community wide visioning process that engaged the entire community in a discussion of what the community desires Marion to be in the future. This process led Marion to be designated as one of Iowa’s Great Places, by the State of Iowa. The Chamber also focuses on tourism- bringing more people into our community, which in turn, brings business to Marion.

Finally, we focus on the cultural realm- people, entities and events that give Marion a rich heritage in the arts that the community has come to be known for.
