   The City of Marion celebrated the opening of the new Thomas Park Maintenance Building and Storm Shelter at 335 Marion Blvd. on December 22, 2011.
   On September 16  ribbon cutting was held for Campbell Steele Gallery who is celebrating 20 years in the Marion Uptown District at their 1064 7th Avenue location.
   Cedar Valley Family Dentistry celebrated the opening of their new location at 1145 Linden Drive in Marion with a ribbon cutting on September 14, 2011.
   Keystone Church celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting on September 10 at their new 631 9th Street location in Uptown Marion.
   Chamber Ambassadors enjoyed the City of Marion Thomas Park splash pad ribbon cutting on September 7.  This is the second major improvement to Thomas Park funded by local option sales tax.  This is Marion's first free access splash pad and was completed in 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
   On September 6, Chamber Ambassadors assisted Aging Services, Inc. with a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its Milestones in Marion Adult Day Health Center located at 1080 Cardinal Drive in Marion.
   Linn-Mar's Indian Creek Elementary dedicated their new playground with a ribbon cutting on August 15, 2011.
   Marion Bowl celebrated their one year anniversary with a ribbon cutting on August 12, 2011.  Marion Bowl is located at 3465 7th Avenue.
 

Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the 15th Annual Marion by Moonlight event on June 2 with sponsor Farmers State Bank.

 

On July 21 Chamber members enjoyed the annual Summer Fiesta Block Party in Uptown Marion hosted by Farmers State Bank and Martin Design.
Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the opening of Z Wireless with a ribbon cutting on July 21 at their 2240 7th Avenue, Suite 5 location in Marion.
Absolutely Clean announced a new non-profit organization, Time in a Bottle, on June 23 at their community appreciate party at Thomas Park.  Chamber Ambassadors were honored to be a part of such a special event.
Chamber Ambassadors were invited to help Dr. Michelle at Schwenn Family Chiropractic with the opening of her new location at 5475 Dyer Avenue in Marion on June 23.
Ohnward Bank and Trust hosted a Chamber PM Exchange on June 16 at their newly expanded location, 665 Marion Blvd. in Marion.  Approximately 180 Chamber members enjoyed food, drinks, door prizes and networking.
Chamber Ambassadors welcomed new editor of The Marion Times, Corey Munson, on June 16.
On March 18, Chamber Ambassadors helped celebrate the opening of the Marion Independent Fitness Center (a partnership between Marion Independent School District and the YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitian Area).  This new facility is located at 675 South 15th Street in Marion.
Chamber Ambassadors helped the City of Marion open their 35th Street project on May 25.  This picture was taken in the roundabout area just north of 29th Avenue on 35th Street.
Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the opening of Anderson-Bogert Engineers new Marion location at 790 11th Street on February 23.
Mark and Carol Sanderson from Classic Tax and Accounting invited Chamber Ambassadors to a ribbon cutting on December 21 to celebrate the opening of their new location at 888 10th Street, Suite 2 in Marion.
On December 9 The City of Marion invited Chamber Ambassadors to celebrate the opening of 31st Street at Grand Avenue in Marion.
On December 7 The ESCO Group invited Chamber Ambassador to a groundbreaking for their new facility to be located at 3450 3rd Street in Marion.  Construction on the 32,000 square foot building is taking place west of 3rd Street, north of Barrington Parkway.
On October 28 Travel and Transport Vacations invited the Chamber Ambassadors to a ribbon cutting for their newly remodeled offices at 1655 Blairs Ferry Rd. in Marion...also known as The Big Yellow House!
The City of Marion celebrated the opening of Lowe Park Greenhouse on October 24.  The greenhouse, located at 4500 North 10th Street in Marion, is a joint project of the Linn County Master Gardeners and the City of Marion Parks and Recreation Department.
Cedar Rapids Tire celebrated their grand opening at 4601 8th Avenue in Marion on October 8.
Chamber Ambassadors helped the City of Marion with the opening of North 10th St. Reconstruction Project on October 8.
Linn-Mar Community School District held a dedication and community open house on September 20 to celebrate the opening of Novak Elementary located at 401 29th Avenue in Marion.
G.W.E. celebrated the opening of their new location at 850 Twixt Town Rd. NE on September 17, 2010.
Marion Bowl kicked off their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 27.  New owners Eric and Marianne Wink welcomed Ambassadors at their location (formerly Castle Lanes) at 3465 7th Avenue in Marion.
Marion Enterprise Center Groundbreaking took place on July 21 at the east end of North Gateway Dr. along Highway 151 in Marion.  This new industrial park will provide shovel-ready property for economic expansion in Marion. 
Marion's Mayor Paul Rehn, Marion Chamber of Commerce president Jill Ackerman along with Iowa Governor Chet Culver sign the State of Iowa Great Places Memorandum of Understanding on Feb. 17, 2010 as a part of Cultural Advocacy Day in Des Moines.
