Marion offers a wealth of opportunities, in terms of its business community and quality of life. The city offers a rich blend of small town and contemporary living. Its heritage is preserved in the brick-front buildings that overlook the majestic oaks of Marion Square Park, its turn-of-the-century homes, and numerous antique shops and specialty stores. At the same time, present day influences are prominent throughout the city, with an array of new homes, state-of-the-art businesses and two top caliber educational districts. Marion also has a responsive city government. With a growing population of more than 29,000, Marion is also an integral part of the larger metropolitan area. The Marion Chamber of Commerce, a division of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, serves Marion by providing services that allow businesses and residents to participate in a variety of regional partnerships. For a complete list of local, area and regional businesses, visit our online directory. There is a welcoming feel in Marion, especially during festival days. On the third Saturday in May, Marion Square Park is the site of the Marion Arts Festival, one of the Midwest's finest showings of regional artists. Throughout the summer, residents enjoy evenings in the park with live music by popular local musicians and great food from local vendors. In September, Marion residents celebrate their heritage during the Swamp Fox Festival, named for Revolutionary War hero General Francis Swamp Fox Marion. In Marion, we think that our way of life is a wonderful way of life. Visit us soon. You’ll be glad you did!
