This Professional Development and Engagement series was built to create a bench of strong leaders for Marion's future. It's a tool designed for community and business members who want to strengthen their leadership skills and put them to use in the community.
The program consists 10 half-day sessions from September - May and will include leadership assessments, one-on-one meetings with local government officials, curriculum-based training, hands-on developmental experiences, networking and volunteering. Sessions cover everything from history and culture to economic and community development. |

MLIA provided a mix of in-classroom and field trip learning. The classroom content was taught by dynamic educators that were interactive and thought provoking. It was also enjoyable to spend time ‘in the field’ touring Marion facilities and businesses. MLIA provided me with a wholistic view of the community in respect to how the various parts work together to achieve more. It has deepened my appreciation for the pride and legacy of Marion. A favorite part of my MLIA experience was the connections made with classmates and community leaders that I value most. I’m grateful for my time with MLIA and would highly recommend this program to anyone that wants to take their leadership and love of Marion to the next level. |
