Since 2008 the Marion Chamber has delivered over $1M to the Marion community in the form of grants and funding for community and economic development projects. These dollars have leveraged $10M in additional development.

Chamber led community visioning initiatives like Imagine8 and ImagiNEXT have led to Iowa Great Places designations, a Main Street Iowa Community designation, and grant opportunities that have allowed Marion to expand park amenities and attractions. All helping to attract new residents and businesses and making for a higher quality of life.

ImagiNEXT followed the success of Imagine8, and engaged Marion in a community-wide visioning process. At its conclusion, over 3,000 ideas were collected to help enhance our already thriving community. Through a narrowing process, the Future Four ideas for Marion were identified. Learn More

The need for an expanded Public Library was identified during Imagine8 as one of the priorities for our quickly growing community. The Chamber remains supportive of this initiative and the surrounding redevelopment in the Uptown.

Prospect Meadows is a 17-field baseball and softball complex north of Marion. When completed it's expected to host more than 60,000 visitors annually and inject an estimated $20 million of direct spending into the Linn County economy. The complex will also feature a Miracle Field that will allow children with special needs to experience baseball.
