​In an Ordinary Year, the Marion Arts Festival Empty ​Bowls Sale Raises Over $4,000 for Local Food Banks

​In a year when we cannot gather, the Marion Arts Festival is coming to you, right where you are, with our 2021 virtual event.
 
Since 1996, the festival has sold ceramic bowls made by students in their art classes to benefit area food banks.  

A typical day-of-sale features more than 1,000 bowls, with most priced at $5.  Over the program's lifetime, the Empty Bowls project has raised over $105,000 for area food banks, one bowl at a time.

The impact of pandemic and derecho recovery find local food assistance programs and the families they serve in need unlike ever before.  If you can, please consider a donation to the Marion Chamber Foundation – we will donate all contributions to food pantries in the name of the festival and spirit of Empty Bowls.
