Winter lights display project

Light display on 6th Avenue in Marion

The Marion Leadership in Action class is currently working on a Winter Light and Display master plan that will encompass the Uptown Area, City Parks, and Gateways.

This plan will be implemented in phases by future leadership classes over the next 5-7 years with the purchase of holiday decorations and lighting. The creation of a master plan will allow the community to adopt a clear vision for the holiday season while maintaining the distinct charm of Marion.

This master plan will be funded through Marion Leadership in Action's annual fundraising campaign and a request for matching funds through the City of Marion.

Phase 1: 2-3 years
​Outline the window, doorway and roof line of the Depot in City Square Park with white commercial lights. String white commercial lights vertically from the top of the trees in City Square Park.

Phase 2: 1-2 years
​String white commercial lights on the trees that line 6th and 7th Avenues.

Phase 3: 1-2 years
Create a canopy of white commercial lights draped across the roof lines of the buildings leading into the Uptown Artway.
